Watlington Primary School

Watlington Primary School is a single-form entry community primary school, with a roll of approximately 200 pupils aged 3 – 11. The original primary school was established in the centre of Watlington in 1874, and we relocated to our current site, which we share with Icknield Community College, in February 2000.

The school’s motto, ‘Bright Futures’, is at the heart of all that we do and is lived and breathed by the whole school community each and every day. We are a child-centered, caring and motivational school. We work with integrity to ensure all children have the skills they need to achieve their ambitions.

We are passionate about providing the best possible learning experiences for the whole child, ensuring an outstanding education in its widest sense. Our children are motivated by and engaged in their learning and it is that enthusiasm that creates the buzz that is felt in every classroom every day. This enthusiasm for learning makes our school a very special place to come to work and learn.

On 1st August 2019 we converted to academy status and joined the Acer Trust. This has been an exciting step in our school journey, allowing us to work in collaboration with others, in the spirit of trust and openness, ensuring that we provide the best opportunities for all members of our school community. We have benefitted from participating in both primary and cross-phase projects focusing on school improvement, as well as School Self Evaluation Reviews led by colleagues from across the Trust.
