How we use your data

If you are part of one of our school communities, we will process certain data about you in order to fulfil our obligations towards you, be that by facilitating your (or your child’s) education, keeping you safe, keeping you informed, etc. We are also required to process some information to fulfil our statutory and legal responsibilities.

Your data rights

You have certain rights in relation to the personal information that we process about you. This includes the right to:

  • be informed about what information we hold about you;
  • access your personal information that we hold about you;
  • rectify inaccuracies in personal information that we hold about you;
  • have your personal data removed from our systems;
  • restrict the processing of your personal data;
  • object to us processing your personal data by us;
  • obtain a copy of, or have us transfer, all of your personal data to a third party;
  • withdraw any consent you have given us to process your information for marketing purposes.

Raising a concern

If you have any concerns about the processing of your data, please contact the school (link to Our Schools) to which your request relates, so that we can respond as quickly as possible. However, you can also contact our Data Protection Officer.

Freedom of information

Acer Trust is a public body under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) and as such, we are committed to transparency. We publish certain information routinely on our website and the websites of our schools. However, you may also make a request for certain information under the Act. Please note that this does not include requests for personal information, which should be made under our Data Subject Request Procedure.

To make a Freedom of Information request, you should submit your request in writing, stating that you are making your request under the Freedom of Information Act, to either the school to which your request relates, or to the Data Protection Officer if your request relates to the Acer Trust as a whole.
