Wood Green School is an 11-18 comprehensive in Witney, West Oxfordshire and serves the town and surrounding villages. Wood Green was founded in 1953 and became comprehensive in 1968.
We pride ourselves on our curriculum which develops the whole person. We call this our Wood Green Baccalaureate Curriculum: as well as offering a broad range of GCSEs and A Level, we have created additional curriculum entitlements such as wellbeing coaching and public speaking, which all students encounter. There are many opportunities for students to take part in extra-curricular activities, especially sport, music and drama. We motivate all students to learn new skills and to do community service in their own time, and our students are recognised for the work they do in the local area. Our strong curriculum and commitment to our community has meant that we have become oversubscribed, with over 1200 students.
Being part of the Acer Trust has given staff the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across Oxfordshire in new ways and the strong operations arm of the Trust has made a significant impact on the management of our school and the environment for learning.
