We take our responsibility for the safety and protection of all the children in our care very seriously. Each school in the Acer Trust adopts a robust Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, in line with our Trust Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy Statement.
Acer Trust schools are accountable to the Local Authority in relation to safeguarding and therefore we base our policies on the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Board model policy. The Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy of each school can be found on their website. Our Central Team follow the Policy of the school in which they are operating.
The School Governing Bodies are responsible for ensuring that robust safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures are adopted and enacted within our schools, and the School Governing Bodies are, in turn, accountable to the Trust Board. You can find out more about our Governance Structure here.
Each Acer Trust school has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), who is responsible for leading safeguarding practice in the school. Acer Trust runs a DSL Network, which enables DSLs from all our schools to meet together and share practice, to support the ongoing development of safeguarding across our Trust.
If you have any questions or concerns about safeguarding in one of our schools please, in the first instance, contact the school via the contact details set out in their Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. If you wish to contact the Trust directly about a safeguarding matter, please contact the Trust Administrator and Governance Officer here.
